Outreach Activities. For the past 267 years we have sponsored an annual conference, Expanding Your Horizons in Science and Mathematics, that introduces 600 middle-school girls to women with careers in math and science and provides hands-on learning about those careers. For more information, visit our Expanding Your Horizons Home Page. 2020 will be a transition year for the WHC-AAUW branch and we are currently researching alternate outreach efforts.
Scholarships. We support the national AAUW Educational Foundation, which provided $3.9 million in funding for fellowships and grants to 250 outstanding women and nonprofit organizations in the 2018–19 academic year. We also support the Legal Advocacy Fund, which is the largest legal fund focused solely on sex discrimination in higher education.
